Synchrony Financial Families That Work Challenge


The Synchrony Financial Families That Work Challenge provides an opportunity for teams to showcase how they are empowering their community in the one of the following ways:

  • Providing homeless families, or families at high risk of homelessness, with housing as well as the wrap-around services required to ensure that the family can maintain their residence
  • Providing services and resources such as financial education to those who are income providers to their families
  • Equipping small businesses with the resources needed to thrive and generate sustainable income and long-term business growth.

Project Timeline
The project submitted for this Challenge may be completed any time between May 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

Eligibility
All enrolled Enactus teams in the United States are eligible to enter. 

How to Enter
Teams entering the Synchrony Financial Families That Work Challenge are required to submit an online project application describing one project that meets the criteria and a detailed listing of their media outreach activities. 

Please ensure that your Challenge Impact Entry form is well-written, using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Your descriptions should be clear and concise. Content from this submission will be judged by a panel convened by Synchrony Financial.

After the entry is submitted, please review the email confirmation. You may log back in to make changes up until the entry deadline, if necessary. Enactus will retain the last entry submitted within the deadline. Any team who completes an online entry for this competition and does not receive this verification should contact Tiffany Haney (thaney@enactus.org) immediately.

Entries must be completed by March 31st, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. CT. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.



         

 

 

 

Judging Criteria
How effectively did the Enactus team work with their defined target audience to empower its beneficiaries to take action towards improving risk of homelessness or improving financial security? 

Each team will be evaluated on the following:

  • How effectively did the team articulate specific need(s) of the target audience

  • How effectively did the team develop and implement an innovative project that responded to housing and homelessness and/or economic security?

  • How much did the team improve the livelihoods of the audience, specifically under the framework of the Families that Work Program?

  • How effectively did the team empower individuals and small businesses to improve their livelihoods, as shown through specific outputs and outcomes?

  • Overall, how clear was the project entry?

Team Prizes
The top three teams will be selected to receive a Grand Prize Award and will be recognized at the 2017 Enactus US National Exposition in Kansas City, Missouri:

National First Place       $7,500 & Trophy
National Second Place  $5,000 & Trophy
National Third Place      $2,500 & Trophy
Three (3) Finalists          $1,000 & Plaque each
